The Niobrara shale formation is an established oil-producing reservoir in the southern Denver-Julesberg Basin. At year-end 2018, the company held approximately 98,000 net acres in the Niobrara play, where development activities continue with a concentrated effort on unconventional tight oil. The company continues to pursue operational efficiency and optimization of development activity through the deployment of multi-well drilling pads, facility design enhancements, improved completions and innovative technology. In 2018, net production averaged 8 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day.
The Production Specialist is responsible for production optimization, shooting fluid levels, troubleshooting well and facility issues, hot-oiling operations, assisting multi-skill operators (MSOs) where needed, and artificial lift optimization (compressors and pumping units) as well as being a safety leader.
Responsibilities may include:
Being a safety leader
Mentoring and working with a team of multi-skill operators and contract operators that operate oil and gas wells, gas compression, measurement and all surface facilities in a safe and efficient environmentally sound manner
Liaison with various work groups (i.e. Engineering, Systems, Projects, and Maintenance) to accomplish priorities in the assigned area
Conducting and participating in pre-start up reviews
Auditing work done by contractors and employees in area
Assisting with the development of operations procedures
Assisting with training of new MSO’s on well and facilities operations
Coordinating with Engineering and Operations to achieve established objectives and to minimize interruptions to operations
Training and/or auditing contract personnel on policies and procedures
Downtime reporting and reporting of production volumes
Utilize Cygnet for production surveillance and optimization
Training and assisting field operator in Cygnet, Avocet, reporting systems, pump-off controllers, Wellview, Wellsite, and LPRS
Daily focus on well review and optimization
Track and finalize wells on morning report
Able to be "on-call" for weekend rotation
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Valid driver's license
3 years of direct experience in upstream field operations
Advanced level of proficiency of oil and gas operations, gas compression, measurement and surface facility operations and maintenance
Associate's degree/trade certification or higher in a Production Technology, Process Technology or related technical field or foreign equivalent
Proficient (ability to perform skill with little assistance) with Word, Excel, SAP, Wellview, Avocet and PowerPoint
Ability to prepare accurate and legible reports
Ability to read and understand production and financial reports
Ability to react to visual and aural signals, alarms, and instructions
Understanding well control theories and techniques
