Description

Works closely with the Senior Environmental Coordinator and with other members of the HSER team to develop and implement environmental compliance programs that contribute to sustainable development and maintaining a zero-incident culture. As a team member or working independently, executes varied environmental-related tasks in support of client needs with little supervision. Has working knowledge of applicable Local, State and Federal environmental requirements.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Support air permitting and other required environmental reporting for sites in Colorado, specifically the Niobrara Asset.

  • Ensure compliance requirements of major applicable regulatory programs including Subpart OOOOa, Subpart W, Subpart Quad J, Subpart Quad Z, RCRA, and SPCC are being met within the asset.

  • Ensure compliance requirements of applicable state and local requirements are being met within the asset.

  • Develop solutions for changing regulatory environment at the state and local level and advises on technical standards.

  • Visit production facilities, compressor stations, and other project activity in Niobrara on a routine basis to ensure compliance.

  • Gather, maintain and analyzing datasets, for the purposes of estimating emissions, release volumes, spill volumes, waste volumes and coordinate with supervision to develop tools that can be used to inform the workforce of emerging trends,

  • Actively participate and contribute during environmental incident investigations and proactively implements learnings to prevent similar incidents,

  • Collect and submit information for routine and complex regulatory permits, authorizations and reports and, in response to agency inquiries,

  • Become the expert in the use of tools and technology associated with air emissions management (i.e. FLIR camera, EPA electronic reporting tools, performance testing protocols/procedures, automation/metering and other data collection, sample collection and analytical methods).

  • Participate in the Environmental audits whether it be preparing for external audits or participating in internal audits.

  • Provide environmental expertise during emergency response activities, including agency notifications, initial delineation, initial response and remediation.

  • Provides environmental technical knowledge and training to operations and engineering early in the planning process to proactively embed environmental considerations into design, planning, and implementation.

  • Represent company in dealings with state & local government agencies, trade associations, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering

  • 7 years of experience in engineering or air compliance

  • 7 years of environmental consulting, industry or agency experience

Preferred:

  • Advanced degrees in Engineering

  • 10 years of experience in oil and gas

  • 10 years of hands-on experience in air compliance and GHG issues working for industry, consulting, or agencies particularly in Colorado

  • Experience with Title V compliance

  • Experience in managing water and waste issues for oil and gas

  • Excellent oral communication skills needed to interface with multiple clients including Operations & Maintenance staff, Engineering, Management, and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to cultivate a zero-incident culture

  • Ability to network and gain partnership from members of other workgroups

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right

  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical

  • Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results
