Alaska Overview

ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.3 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2019. The company produced an average of 218 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2019. ConocoPhillips holds major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay Unit, the Kuparuk River Unit, and the Colville River Unit (Alpine). The company operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields, has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.


The Kuparuk-based Facility Planner position is a planning role reporting through the Operations and Maintenance team. This role primarily supports the development and maintenance of our 90-day execution plan for our Kuparuk Operations and Maintenance organization. Periodic meetings with Anchorage resources should be expected to facilitate development of the integrated plan.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner has a responsibility for the safe, efficient and high-quality execution of maintenance and capital projects(<$5MM) for production and infrastructure facilities.

  • This position plans, estimates, schedules, procures/expedites materials & equipment and coordinates contract resources required to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, major repair projects, inspections, and capital construction projects.

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner has critical responsibilities within the GKA work management process, requiring close working relationships with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to implement the process as defined. The Planner is specifically responsible for Planning, Scheduling and Backlog Management in the work process.

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner has budget and cost responsibilities including budget preparation, budget maintenance, estimating, funding authorization document preparation, cost tracking and reporting. These responsibilities may be for all or part of multiple budget categories such as Minor Capital Improvements, Operations Managed Capital, Major Repair Expense and Base Operating & Maintenance.

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner will use SAP as a work and financial management tool including extensive use of the Plant Maintenance Module. The Planner will also use Prometheus for building resourced loaded, fieldwide integrated work schedules for multiple work scopes.

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner will work directly with the Anchorage-based Integrated Planning team to transition long-term planned items into the field execution schedule

  • The Facility Maintenance Planner will facilitate meetings to review new notifications, ensuring data quality for all new work orders, and prioritizing the backlog



  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee

  • 3 years of experience in process maintenance project planning

  • 1 years of experience with plant and drill site maintenance activities including mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and welding crafts

  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP maintenance, materials, and financial modules.

  • Willing and able to work in and live in a remote site in the Arctic, including working outside in harsh weather conditions.

  • Willing and able to work 14 days on, 14 days off work schedule


  • 1 years experience using Prometheus scheduling tool (SAP plug-in)
