ConocoPhillips and its heritage companies have operated in the Permian Basin for almost 100 years. Across New Mexico and Texas, the company holds conventional positions in the Northwest Shelf and Central Basin Platform, and an unconventional position in the Delaware Basin. At year-end 2020, the company held about 750 thousand net acres across the basin, with net production of 85 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day. In January 2021, ConocoPhillips completed the acquisition of Concho Resources Inc., greatly expanding the company’s position in the Permian Basin. The addition of 550,000 net acres complements the company’s position in the Delaware and Midland Basins and created a sizeable Permian presence.
The main function of the Human Resources Associate in Midland, TX is to provide general personnel administrative and technical support to the Permian Human Resources team. This role reports to the Manager, Permian HRBP. If you are selected as the HR Associate, you will be handling and maintaining confidential information and data. In addition, you must be proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office 365 products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word).
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing support to the Permian HR Manager and HRBP's as needed on various personnel-related activities including updating data, preparing reports and analysis of data
Coordinating and facilitating New Hire/Intern orientation and onboarding process: web form submission, I-9 authorization, first-day HR orientation, longer-term (90 days) onboarding activities
Assisting the Global Mobility team with substantial presence requirements and repatriating expatriates
Coordinating benefits and onboarding activities for payroll transferees
Processing various, and occasionally sophisticated, HR related system actions via SAP (Org Management and Personnel Actions
Working closely with HR Shared Services, Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development on various HR activities
Participation in special projects as needed, for example development series, testing new HR technology, etc.
Using various IT-based systems: MS Office, Workforce Planning & Metrics (WP&M), SpotFire, Staffing Express, Career Express, Oracle Data Warehouse, SharePoint, Cross-Application Timesheet (CATS), etc.
Running various reports from SAP, i.e., work schedules, headcounts, overtime, monthly downloads
Handling and auditing annual attestations, for example rotator vacation buyout, DC market factor
Serving as Document Records Coordinator
Preparing Affirmative Action Plans
Developing and maintaining positive work relationships with recruiters and Pre-employment Due Diligence (PEDD) associates on obtaining new hire/intern information and clearance
Processing invoices and expense reports
Providing some general administrative support as needed, including booking meeting rooms, organizing catering, etc.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
5 years of experience in a human resource or administrative assistant role
3 years of experience working with highly confidential personnel information
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
Associate's degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt, Human Resources, other related business field, or foreign equivalent
Advanced proficiency with all of the following data applications:
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and a sense of urgency
