Eagle Ford Overview
ConocoPhillips acreage is located in the sweet spot of the Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Basin of South Texas. The company was one of the first to enter the play in 2009, and by year-end 2017 held approximately 210,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes and Live Oak counties. Since field inception, ConocoPhillips has produced more than 300 million barrels of oil equivalent from the field and continues to build the Eagle Ford into a legacy asset with production expected for years to come. In 2017, net production from the Eagle Ford averaged 133 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, with about 80 percent of the production coming from liquids.
The primary purpose of Wells Supervisor position is to coordinate and directly oversee the safe and efficient implementation of completion activities for the company’s active work program in the Eagle Ford unconventional resource play. The Wells Supervisor will be part of the Lower 48 Productions and Completions Organization supporting the Gulf Coast Business Unit (GCBU) and reporting to the GCBU Wells Superintendent. Eagle Ford is a key asset for the company and delivering safe and value adding completions to aid delivering a lower cost of supply (COS) is essential to the business as completions have the highest capital spend in the asset.
Responsibilities may include:
Adherence to and promotion of ConocoPhillips safety practices and SPIRIT values
Providing onsite management of field operations including wire line, coiled tubing, workover operations for horizontal Eagle Ford wells ensuring that wells are completed in an efficient, technically competent, safe, value adding and environmentally responsible manner
Implementing ConocoPhillips health, safety and environmental policy through dedicated leadership and mentoring of contract personnel
Managing projects and timing to achieve asset goals, including planning and logistics for assigned well activities from stimulation release through hand-off to production operations
Working with superintendents and engineers to optimize safe and low-cost completion procedures for well operations
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting of qualified vendors
Having direct input and responsibility for cost control and ensuring operations stay within budget
Legally authorized to work in the United States
7 years of experience in the upstream petroleum industry
Valid Well Control certificate or ability to obtain Well Control certificate upon hire
Valid driver's license
Willing and able to perform the following:
Travel to remote field locations
Work under harsh weather conditions
Work a 14x14 rotational work schedule
5 years of completions experience
Safety and regulatory training consistent with company standards.
Dedicated to protecting the health and safety of everyone involved in ConocoPhillips activities
Familiarity with SAP based accounting system
Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and engineering applications software
Familiarity with a network of service contractors and related service providers
Basic understanding of WellView daily reporting system
Experience working in a multinational, multi-cultural environment
Experienced in simultaneous operations
Understanding of wireline and pressure control equipment for logging, setting packers, perforating, swabbing, cementing etc
Well-developed planning and organizing skills
Sound business discernment and a creative problem solver
Self-starter requiring little to no direct mentorship
Strong leadership and communication skills complimented with openness to new ideas, leading by example, and the ability to take direction
Responsible for management of a functional area or a small to medium operation
May provide oversight and technical mentorship to junior and/or professional staff
