If you are selected as the Staff Analyst, Accounting and Finance, you will be a key member of the Finance team supporting Audit, Commercial Services, F&PA, Lower 48 or Treasury. Responsibilities may include support of assurance, advisory, and compliance audits; crude, NGL, gas, and derivatives accounting and reporting, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; cash management and banking, and credit evaluation and monitoring. The Analyst will become a business partner with their stakeholders and understand business processes and work drivers while supporting a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and innovation.
The ConocoPhillips Finance organization plays a significant part in the company’s global Exploration and Production value chain by providing financial information that impacts investment decisions leading to the success of the company.
Your responsibilities may include:
Participating as an integral team member on the Finance team and be a key resource for the organization
Developing and coordinating forecasts and budgets
Completing financial trend analysis and communicating to management
Researching and responding to technical accounting questions, interpreting financial budgets and results
Recording monthly accruals
Performing business unit analysis
Ensuring company policies, procedures and standards are being consistently followed
Performing SOX audits
Assessing compliance with applicable contracts
Accounting for all commodities including natural gas, crude, NGL, power, and commodity derivatives
Meeting funding & liquidity needs
Evaluating credit risk of existing & potential counterparties
Maintaining bank & rating agency relationships
Daily cash positioning & forecasting
Managing cash investments & debt administration
Providing exceptional communication and customer service skills, in addition to demonstrating ability to perform in a team environment, applying excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Supporting data automation efforts and innovation opportunities
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, other related field, or foreign equivalent
1 years of relevant business experience
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
1 years of experience with SAP
Advanced level of proficiency in financial and operational analysis, data analytics, and presentation skills
Basic level of knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, internal controls
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under tight deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
