The Senior Consultant, SEC Reporting will participate as an integral team member in the Controllers function and report directly to the Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities may include:
Ensuring compliance with SEC financial reporting requirements
Key contributor in quarterly, annual, and intermittent SEC filings
Review of press releases, external presentations, and printed materials for compliance with SEC guidance
Responsible for monitoring proposed and final SEC rules, assessing the impact, and developing implementation plans, as appropriate
Review of proposed business activities to assess and provide guidance on the SEC or other external reporting implications
Coordinating the company’s response to SEC comment letters
Coordinating global finance support for strategic acquisition and disposition activity
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or foreign equivalent
7 years of financial accounting and reporting experience
7 years in a role requiring progressing multiple tasks concurrently while working independently
3 years of experience researching GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
Intermediate level of knowledge regarding GAAP and SEC filing requirements, including experience with Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, S-3, and 14A
Big 4 experience
Energy industry exposure
Strong analytical skills with ability to research and resolve complex issues
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including experience of communicating complex accounting and reporting interpretations to Senior Management
Ability to progress multiple tasks concurrently and work independently
Strong organization and interpersonal skills
Must be able to network and communicate globally
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results
