The Senior Consultant, SEC Reporting will participate as an integral team member in the Controllers function and report directly to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Ensuring compliance with SEC financial reporting requirements

  • Key contributor in quarterly, annual, and intermittent SEC filings

  • Review of press releases, external presentations, and printed materials for compliance with SEC guidance

  • Responsible for monitoring proposed and final SEC rules, assessing the impact, and developing implementation plans, as appropriate

  • Review of proposed business activities to assess and provide guidance on the SEC or other external reporting implications

  • Coordinating the company’s response to SEC comment letters

  • Coordinating global finance support for strategic acquisition and disposition activity



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or foreign equivalent

  • 7 years of financial accounting and reporting experience

  • 7 years in a role requiring progressing multiple tasks concurrently while working independently

  • 3 years of experience researching GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements

  • Intermediate level of knowledge regarding GAAP and SEC filing requirements, including experience with Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, S-3, and 14A

  • CPA certification


  • MS/MBA degree

  • Big 4 experience

  • Energy industry exposure

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to research and resolve complex issues

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including experience of communicating complex accounting and reporting interpretations to Senior Management

  • Ability to progress multiple tasks concurrently and work independently

  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to network and communicate globally

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right

  • Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results

  • Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
