The ConocoPhillips Lower 48 Human Performance Specialist provides Human Performance and Learning Organization vision, strategic planning, direction, leadership and field support to the Lower 48 as part of the Lower 48 HSER leadership team. This position reports to the Manager, Lower 48 HSER and is responsible for developing and leading Lower 48 Learning Organization and Human Performance roadmap, improvement plans, systems, processes and tools, while also serving as a companywide resource. This role is critical in the pursuit of becoming a Learning Organization to improve HSE performance and operating integrity and reliability.
Develops and leads ConocoPhillips’ Lower 48 Learning Organization and Human Performance strategy and business approach, and developing fit-for-purpose solutions at the Business Unit and operating asset levels.
Engage with Business Units and Functions regarding different Learning Organization concepts and support teams with their implementation strategies.
Support Organizational Change Management efforts for teams implementing different Learning Organization concepts.
As appropriate, builds Learning Organization concepts, principals and language into the Lower 48 HSE Management System and associated standards and guidance documents.
Responsible for leveraging, sharing and cascading Human Performance and operational learning standard methodologies, learnings and associated knowledge across Lower 48.
Liaise with the Lower 48 Operations and Engineering Functional Excellence Teams representatives in defining and understanding the Human Performance aspects of Operating Integrity.
As appropriate, represents ConocoPhillips in industry HSE Human Performance efforts and keeps abreast of improvements and enhancements from outside of COP
As requested by functions or assets, facilitate Human Performance leadership engagements, Learning Organization 101, and Learning team facilitator training.
As requested, lead Learning Teams in pre-emptive work planning or post-incident investigations.
Partner with the corporate and Business Unit Human Performance practitioners and subject matter experts in building organizational capacity and capability across the Enterprise.
Work closely with the Lower 48 communications team in developing a systematic and effective approach to dissemination of Learning Organization and Human Performance information
Legally authorized to work in the United States
5 years of experience in the upstream energy industry
3 years’ experience with Human Performance concepts
10 years of experience in the Upstream energy industry
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Public Health, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Sciences or related field
Technical degree certification (i.e., Professional Engineer, CSP, ect.).
Experience in leading and participating in Tier 3 and Tier 2 audits with accountability for development and execution of actions to remedy audit findings.
Expert knowledge of HSE and Operations Management Systems – both development of the procedures and processes used as well as administering the programs.
Experience utilizing incident tracking systems.
Knowledge of SAP and supporting modules (i.e., Maintenance, etc.).
Ability to network and gain cooperation from members of other workgroups.

Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals.
Analyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact business results.
