This role is accountable for the provision of accurate, clear and concise economic evaluations to the decision-makers within ConocoPhillips Lower 48. You will work with the support of an experienced economist and be expected to produce high quality independent work. You will often need to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and work under deadlines. This is a high visibility role. The role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to develop in strategy and economic evaluations, and an understanding of the Lower 48 business.
Responsibilities may include:
Develop, maintain and run economic models, primarily using Excel
Act as the economic spokesperson for project teams in meetings with internal peer review teams and managers
Coordinate with Asset/Finance team to generate LRP/Budget forecasts, ensuring all deadlines are met on a timely basis, allowing adequate time for management review. Will also partner with S&PM team in support of the LRP.
Respond to various inquiries and provide support to Regional Management in decision making and the understanding of business results and projections
Continuously look to improve processes and tools related to the economic analysis and the LRP/Budget process
Source and archive Asset data used for various forecasting exercises (Production, Costs, Capital Expenditures, etc.)
Evaluate economic modeling tools that best serve the needs of the Business Unit
Generate ad hoc economics as and when requested (Sensitivities, Well economics, etc.)
Support business development activities
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline or foreign equivalent
5 years of finance experience in the oil and gas industry
1 years of experience using economic modeling skills utilizing tools such as Excel, Crystal Ball, PEEP
Intermediate understanding of upstream project cash flow construction, economic measures of merits, and other financial metrics
Intermediate understanding of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
Experience with budgeting, Long Range Planning
Familiar with Decision and Risk Analysis processes and methods
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to leaders
Experience facilitating multidisciplinary teams in problem solving sessions a plus
Strong focus on quality control and ability to start and finish tasks independently
Invites dialogue to gain a shared understanding and influences with confidence to drive performance and achieve business results
Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
