The primary function of the Drilling/Completion (D&C) Analyst is to support the Gulf Coast Business Unit (GCBU)/Lower 48 (L48) Exploration Drilling and Completion Organization in three key areas: Data Quality, Data Science and Data Management/Maintenance so that the D&C Leadership and Engineering staff can make relevant and often real-time planning and operational decisions. Additionally, the candidate will work with other technical, business and engineering functions in data base structuring, data analysis/visualization, data extraction/transfer and data system upgrades. The candidate will report to the GCBU/L48 Exploration D&C Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting the Drilling/Completions Engineering staff by providing and manipulating data on well operations and costs to assist the D&C Leadership and Engineering Staff in planning and operational decision-making
Providing well specific data analytics by generation of Spotfire visualizations and data analysis that provides additional value on cost, on bottom, and operational drilling performance
Leading data capture and quality control (QC) processes to ensure data quality. Improving data capture workflows to improve data analysis techniques
Providing monthly drilling/completions dashboards on cost and performance metrics. Own the effort in the preparation and content of the Quarterly Performance Review for senior leadership
Collaborate with regulatory group to support permitting and post well reporting with State Regulatory Agencies
Track tasks in Generwell (FUSE) to maintain a drilling inventory of wells in multiple operating basins
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Associate degree or higher in science, engineering, math, business, or other related discipline or foreign equivalent
3 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry
Advanced knowledge of Peloton's WellView reporting software
Basic knowledge and skills with Tibco’s Spotfire visualization and analytics software
Intermediate knowledge of statistics and probability
Intermediate knowledge of data base set-up, maintenance and management
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field or foreign equivalent
Certificate in Data Analytics, Data Science or Lean Six Sigma
Fundamental knowledge of the drilling and completions process
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Highly developed social and team skills
