The Cybersecurity Team mission is to enable ConocoPhillips business operations by preventing, detecting, and responding to cyber incidents that threaten personal safety; the environment; or the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ConocoPhillips controlled information or computer systems.

The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst role works to prevent cyber incidents through the application of cyber threat intelligence and the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities. As a team member, you will investigate suspicious cyber events, participate in, or manage the enterprise response to cyber incidents, and conduct advanced analysis in support of incident response.

If you are selected as the Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting analysis and response actions to protect ConocoPhillips from cyber threats. Your areas of focus may include cyber threat intelligence analysis, vulnerability assessment; monitoring, detection, and response; data loss protection; and digital forensics.

This position can be based in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, Washington D.C. or any U.S. ConocoPhillips location.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting threat information

  • Conducting vulnerability assessments

  • Monitoring cybersecurity threat detection systems

  • Responding to alerts and reports of suspicious cyber events

  • Analyzing logs

  • Conducting computer and memory forensics

  • Coordinating with employees, contractors, and management throughout the enterprise regarding cybersecurity events and incidents

  • Interviewing employees and contractors relating to cyber events and incidents

  • Drafting reports of cybersecurity incidents

  • Researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification of network incidents



  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee

  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination, or ConocoPhillips approved accommodation, required

  • 5 years of experience in an information security, intelligence, or investigations related field

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems

  • Advanced knowledge of computer networking

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to provide day-to-day application support and after-hours callout on a rotational basis


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent

  • 5 years of Cybersecurity experience

  • 5 years of experience in information security, especially on a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC)

  • 3 years System administrator experience

  • 3 years of experience in another IT function5

  • 1 years experience with Python or similar coding experience

  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Ability to react quickly, decisively, and deliberately in high-stress, high-impact situations

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one

  • Ability to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans or behaviors

  • An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business

  • An understanding of organizational mission, values and goals and consistent application of this knowledge
