Description:

The Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst (BA) will join the L48 Well Planning, Drilling and Completions IT organization. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with a strong customer focus and excellent communications skills. This individual will be accountable for understanding and translating business strategies and needs, as well as determining solution options. The BA will translate the business needs into applicable functional/ technical requirements to support solution development. Working closely with our business customers and technical teams, the BA will need to partner collaboratively and communicate effectively to ensure all stakeholders’ needs are met.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Customer relationship management and communicating with the business customers around IT services, costs and needs

  • Facilitating discussions with business and IT resources in order to sufficiently capture requirements

  • Translating business needs/strategies into IT requirements and sourcing IT services to meet requirements (current and future)

  • Understanding business processes end-to-end, actively measuring business contribution of enabling systems, and initiating improvements to the process and/or systems

  • Projecting demand for services

  • Understanding and communicating to the customers on both the cost and value of services provided

  • Reviewing the range of existing solutions available and presenting options and recommendations to the customer

  • Performing front-end-loading (FEL), business case development and where appropriate, planning and leading projects

  • Collaborating with other business and IT groups as needed

  • Working with external contractors, vendors, and industry groups

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • 5 years of work experience in upstream E&P

  • 3 years of direct experience with business analysis methodologies

  • 1 years of direct experience leading projects

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business-related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects

  • Upstream business knowledge, business acumen and an understanding of the Lower 48 upstream business processes

  • Knowledge of Drilling and Completions engineering software applications

  • Knowledge of WellView/SiteView

  • Broad cross-functional upstream knowledge of well delivery process lifecycle and project types

  • Business Process Management (BPM) & Organizational Change Management (OCM) experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to build and maintain key business relationships

  • Self-motivated with a strong customer orientation

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable, and standing up for what is right

  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
