Description

The Sr. Analytics Analyst will be part of the Finance, HR, and IT analytics team within the Analytics Innovation Center of Excellence.

If you are selected as the Sr. Analytics Analyst, you will be responsible for the development, modification and implementation of integration, reporting and analytics solutions. Data integration solutions may require the ability to work with internal and external data sources while reporting solutions may include solutions such as scorecards, dashboards, and reports tailored to key partners which may include all levels of management. You will lead multiple concurrent projects and provide solutions across a variety of tools, languages, and platforms.

This position can be based in Bartlesville, OK or Houston, TX.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Deep understanding of report creation processes, including data & report formatting, drill-downs, filters, report scheduling, etc. You will generate derived/calculated dimensions & measures using available software functionality in support of the reporting process

  • Managing data visualization and reporting projects (and potential other developers) from project inception through operational implementation

  • Understand what drives the business and be a part of providing actionable data and analytics solutions

  • Solid understanding of data, multiple database structures and their applications

  • Provide ongoing analytical support for all levels of the organization. You will gather business and technical specifications to support analytics, report and database development

  • Develop solutions to deliver information internally and externally to customers via dashboards and automated processes

  • With minimal supervision, you will perform tasks spanning the full lifecycle of BI and data analysis development, including end-user interviews, business requirements analysis, analytic/report development, documentation, training, and support

  • Build report and analytic prototypes based on initial business requirements

  • Provide status on the issues and progress of key business projects

  • Support end users with appropriate tools for their analysis needs

  • Deliver training and support to users with ad-hoc analysis as needed

  • Communication skills are critical as this position interacts closely with both business and developers while gathering requirements, designing, testing, implementing and supporting solutions

  • Continued professional development based on the company's solution architecture roadmap on cloud platforms and tools

  • Continued professional development on additional quantitative skills and advanced analytics skills

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related technical discipline or foreign equivalent

  • 3 years of experience implementing and managing analytics, database, reporting or BI solutions

  • 3 years of experience with building data visualizations using tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI, MS SSRS

  • Intermediate knowledge of BI/DW concepts

  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL

  • Intermediate proficiency in data modeling

Preferred:

  • 5 years of experience implementing and managing solutions using Data Analytics tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, SAS, Qlik or Tableau

  • Experience with both Oracle (11g) and SQL Server (2008 R2 - 2016) and Teradata 16.x

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or other source code control tools

  • Intermediate proficiency in Informatica PowerCenter

  • Familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS, etc.) and ETL processes

  • Solutions oriented; learns quickly, understand complex problems, and apply useful solutions

  • Ability to work with business and technology users to define and gather reporting and analytics requirements

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work without daily supervision

  • Skilled in multitasking and providing premium support to business users

  • Demonstrates the desire and ability to learn and utilize new technologies

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with experience in analyzing and understanding business/technology system architectures, databases, and client applications

  • Experience in tuning report performance by optimizing metadata structures and/or working with DW/ETL team to modify data structures

  • Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers

  • Must always be committed to working safely

  • Nice-to-Have: Understanding of statistical concepts and experience in applying techniques

  • Nice-to-Have: Understand of ML, computer vision, training set construction and know-how in applying these techniques

  • Nice-to-Have: Experience with Spark, Hadoop, SQL and NoSQL databases
