The ConocoPhillips Accounting & Finance summer internship program includes a challenging job assignment, plus orientation, social activities, weekly seminars, and opportunities to meet upper management. Your supervisor will provide periodic performance appraisals along with coaching and guidance throughout your internship, as will the mentor you will be assigned. Near the end of your internship, you will be asked to give a presentation to local management about your work assignment, as well as what you learned from the internship program.
Internships are available within our Financial Services and Tax organizations located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The Financial Services organization is responsible for booking revenue and associated receivable and payable journal entries, paying partners for our share of costs, resolving payment disputes, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, processing of depreciation and related fixed asset accounting, and more. The Tax organization is responsible for state, domestic & international tax compliance, return preparation, and tax accounting.
Internships are also available within our Commercial Services, Controllers, Finance & Performance Analysis, Treasury, and Internal Audit organizations located in Houston, Texas. These organizations are responsible for monitoring product volume accuracy, invoicing & payment of product, vendor monitoring, forecasting, budgeting, economic valuation, financial statement analysis, recommending & monitoring credit exposure, cash management, debt administration, risk identification & control validation, and more.
Typical length of our internships varies from 10 to 14 weeks based on the project and your availability.

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance (with 3 hours of Accounting)
Current level in college: Sophomore through Senior or Graduate Student
Expected graduation date: Fall 2019 through Spring/Fall 2021
A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale
Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Develops strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
Demonstrates an understanding of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
