Position Summary

The ConocoPhillips Accounting & Finance Co-op program features a challenging job assignment within the Financial Services organization, plus social activities, weekly seminars, and opportunities to meet upper management. Participants have opportunities to gain finance and accounting experience in the oil and gas industry. Your supervisor will provide periodic performance appraisals along with coaching and guidance throughout the program, as will the mentor you will be assigned.

Our Financial Services organization is responsible for booking revenue and associated receivable and payable journal entries, paying partners for our share of costs, resolving payment disputes, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, processing of depreciation and related fixed asset accounting, and more.

Assignments will be located at our site office in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee, asylee or temporary resident under 8 U.S.C. 1160(a) or 1255(a) (1) and will not need sponsorship now or in the future

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Current level in College: minimum 45 credit hours completed towards a Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 15 hours availability per week

Preferred:

  • 9 hours of Accounting

  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale

  • Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Develops strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals

  • Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable and standing up for what is right

  • Demonstrates an understanding of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
