Description
ConocoPhillips is recruiting a Financial Accounting Analyst Student position in the Canadian Controllers Group. This role will support Financial Accounting, F&PA and Commercial Finance teams. This role is primarily responsible for month end support, external statutory reporting, maintaining various process maps and assist on the financial accounting related projects, as well as continuous improvements and excel modeling projects.
Based out of the Calgary office, this position is a 12-month term, starting in May 2024.
Responsibilities
Assist with month end closing process, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting
Retrieve, prepare and analyze financial data for both internal and external reporting
Assist with coordination of corporate forecasts and budget submission
Coordinate ad hoc requests and responses to Houston
Special projects and functions, as required
Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of ongoing improvement efforts to streamline the Canadian financial processes
Promote positive interaction and communication with management, other employees in Calgary, Houston and Bartlesville to provide superior support to the business
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of a business degree program with Accounting or Finance concentration
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Student must be returning to school to complete their program after their work term
Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem solving and communication skills with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks to meet deadlines.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
